An enigma of my imagination, or is it for real

The "What if?" of life
 I swallowed its pill

It pounces on my emotions, taking charge of my life

Keeping me in check and causing much strife

Dread is its partner
 Anxiety it's fa riend

All shouting
 Calamity, Calamity, Come on in!

I am afraid to go, Afraid to try

Afraid to move, perhaps I'll die

Afraid to see, afraid to grow

Afraid to change, afraid to know.

Afraid to love, afraid to cry

Afraid of truth, so I'll just lie.

Afraid of trust, of faith, of friends

 Will this torment ever end?

There are so many fears I can not count them all.

I am trapped in a corner, wrapped up like a ball

Fear is the father of much of my sin

It determines my behavior

It controls thoughts within

Jesus, my King, my Lord, my friend

How did this enemy, how did he get in?

~~~~~~~
There are many doors that can open the way
What's needed is truth, faith and trust
They will keep fear at bay.
When anxiety takes hold
Trust that I am near
Call My name, you have nothing to fear
Spend time with Me so you know the truth
Renew your mind in my Word,
My plan is foolproof.
Your enemy fear will not know what to do
When encountering Me inside of you
My Anointing oil causes fears grip to unfold
It becomes slippery, and difficult for him to take hold
Try and try as he may
Fear soon finds himself in disarray
Many miles will be between you and they
Sit before me, get quiet and give me your day
Have faith in Me, and who you are will shine
My love for you
 is always  gracious and divine
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. (Luke 12:5 NIV)
The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.
(Psalm 25:14 NIV)
I
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18 NIV)
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. (Psalm 34:11 NIV)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)
