Raggedy Rag Doll

A raggedy rag doll, lost and thrown, soiled, and torn,
Rejected, unprotected, ruefully scorned
Sin uncovered every ghastly inch
Insecurities from within seeped like stench
Broken, wounded, battered, and bruised
You cradled this raggedy doll, worn and used
I had nothing to give, but much to gain
As my Masters hand gently retrieved my broken frame
I recoiled in fear, so marred from the pain
I gave you nothing, but you loved me all the same

My heart in shambles, my mouth profane
You washed me clean, stitched my wounds
Salved my eyes, entered my heart, then watched it bloom
You redeemed what little was left of me
Turned over fallow ground, my soul, set free
Heart mender, restorer of souls, redeemer of lives
You select throwaways, in trash heaps, with no hope to survive
Maker of kings, kingdoms, princes, paupers, and all.
Master Tailor, and Redeemer of raggedy rag dolls. ~~amk

The truth concerning all of us if we’re honest with ourselves as far as being broken without God. Love ❤️ the redemptive part of that story though. Beautifully written and honest.
